Exhibitors are selected on the basis of their fit with Maker Faire: NC, their ability to engage attendees, and the timeliness of their application.
We will contact all applicants after the close of our call for entry requesting their booth choice. A floor plan of the exhibition space with numbered booths will be available soon.

Maker Application (Entries are now closed)
The first step to participating in Maker Faire: North Carolina is to submit an entry that tells us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools. Please provide a short description of what you make and what you will actually bring to Maker Faire. Please link to photographs or videos of what you make. Maker exhibits should be non-commercial however sales by individual Makers are OK. We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things. Makers' projects are subject to approval (for relevance).
Here are some suggested ideas for topics that we're looking for:
- Green Tech and Clean Tech
- Robotics
- Music Performance and Participation
- 3D Printers and CNC Mill
- Textile Arts and Crafts
- Home Energy Monitoring
- Rockets and RC Toys
- Radios, Vintage Computers and Game Systems
- Electronics
- Electric vehicles
- Biology/Biotech and Chemistry Projects
- Food and Beverage Makers
- Kites
- Shelter (Tents, Domes, etc.)
- Unusual Tools, Machines, or Techniques
- How to Fix Things or Take them Apart (Vacuums, Clocks, Washing Machines, etc.)
Maker Exhibit: Our standard setup for a Maker exhibit is roughly a 10x10 space. Use this space to display your work and/or demonstrate how you make something. A 8-foot table and three chairs will be provided.
Once we have accepted participants, we will send out a call asking for presentations, performances and demonstration workshops.

We welcome paid exhibitors and there are a wide range of choices for space and exposure at Maker Faire: North Carolina. Our inaugural event saw attendance over 2000. If you have a commercial product or service or represent a company that would like to exhibit at the Faire, please fill out our Commercial Vendor Application. Commercial Vendors are subject to approval (for relevance).
The Commercial Exhibition fee for Maker Faire: North Carolina 2011 is $100 US. This fee provides a 15 foot by 15 foot exhibition space and the other amenities listed above. Should you need more adjacent space, multiple booths may be purchased. Fees are due in full no later than 5:00PM May 2, 2011. Once approved your company will be invoiced. Fees are refundable only until May 3, 2011.
