Erik Schoster spent the 90s playing the trombone and photocopying Marxist zines in Madison Wisconsin where he cut his teeth on jazz and improvised music. From 2001 to 2006 he studied composition with Joanne Metcalf and improvisation with Matt Turner in Appleton Wisconsin at the Lawrence University Conservatory. The following years shuffled him from Milwaukee to Brooklyn and finally San Francisco  where he is currently teaching computer music to children and otherwise doing his best to spread a love for this thing called sound.
As He Can Jog he has released three full length records and a smattering of EPs, remixes, and sundry recordings on a number of small European labels including Audiobulb Records, The Leaf Label, and Distance Recordings. This July will mark the release of his fourth full length record as He Can Jog for English imprint Home Normal as well as the first stateside release of his music on Milwaukee label Listening Party and his own Wolf Interval.
