Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:15AM As the number of exhibitors and the excitement increases about Maker Faire:NC I'm starting to get a little concerned about parking. We organizers have suggested carpooling and other alternatives already but we'd like to strongly encourage biking in.
Google added Bicycling route calculation to their popular Google Maps service today. I think that it would be a great idea for some motivated person to organize a bike-in for Maker Faire:NC. The Faire takes place on a Sunday that I have decided will be 70 degrees and partly cloudy... perfect day for a ride!
If you think you've got the chops to organize such a thing, shoot me a line via our Contact form. We'll need someone to map out the route(s), bike storage and security at the Faire, and schedule meeting times for group rides.
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 9:16AM Today is The International Day of Awesomeness. I haven't organized any Feats of Awesomeness but I wanted to share with you just how awesome the attendees and exhibitors of Maker Faire:NC.
First of all, go and look at the exciting List of Exhibitors that we have already lined up! There are half a dozen more that I haven't even had time to get on the list including a beekeeping educator, The Scrap Exchange, and someone that will transform your home energy use with solar power!
