Community Reminder: TechShop RDU PARTY this weekend!

Here's just a quick reminder that the TechShop RDU Third anniversary party is happening this Saturday!

We'll be celebrating this Saturday, 4/21, rain or shine, from 12-5 PM! Food, Pinewood Derby, class specials, and live music; plus, $3.00 pints of any draft beer from Roth Brewing! Bring the family; don't miss it!

TechShop parties are always a ton of fun.  The "Few Rules" Pinewood Derby is always a big hit and the food is plentiful and delicious.

Learn to Solder at Maker Faire:NC!

Do you know how to solder?  Want to learn?

Makers of all ages can learn how to solder at Maker Faire NC!  We will have these awesome badges for sale with soldering stations and instructors set up for you.

The MAKE Blinky Robot badge has a custom multi-color flashing LED and is powered by a common coin-cell battery.  This is an excellent project for learning the basics of electronics soldering.

Did you know that we have Maker Faire North Carolina logos available for you to put on your site? We designed multiple sizes and shapes of Maker Faire North Carolina logos for you to hot-link and embed in blog posts, project pages, forums, etc. Please help us spread the word!

We Want YOU!

We are looking for a few good people to assist us with making Maker Faire North Carolina the most awesomest event it can be. Could you spare three or more hours to help us run the event in exchange for free tickets, a shirt, party invitation, and our unending gratitude? If this sounds like you then head over to our Volunteer Application and fill it out.

Special Request

One of the coolest possible volunteer positions is a little different than the rest. We need a couple of people to assist Maker Craig Trader in running and setting up the Chaos Machine! This volunteer position requires a little more time commitment but we'll hook you up with some extra tickets, etc. When you submit your application, just write in a note about the Chaos Machine in the Comments/Requests field.

Burlington Mini Maker Faire

Friends of ours in Burlington are having a Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, April 28th.  The event will be held at the Holly Hill Mall and Business Center.  There are some really interesting Makers on their roster and I can't wait to attend this event.
