Students at the Summer 2010 Documentary Video Institute at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke Universtiy produced a terrific video profile of our good friends and Maker Faire:NC 2010 exhibitors The Scrap Exchange.

The Scrap Exchange, a "creative reuse" center, collects discarded industrial materials for use by individuals in the community, as well as arts programs and workshops. Created by students at the Summer 2010 Documentary Video Institute.

Fan-Made Daft Punk Helmet - Incredible!

I find it hard to focus on long-term builds.  My longest-term build, the Danforth Standard Digitrola, was a labor of love so believe me when I say that the end product of this video must also be a labor of love.

Reminder: 4/1 is the Maker Application Deadline

I wish I could let all of you exhibit but we've got lots of planning to do before the main event on April 25th.  The application deadline is 8:00PM EST on 4/1/2010.  We'll let you know within a few days if we have questions about your application.
