Community Reminder: TechShop RDU PARTY this weekend!

Here's just a quick reminder that the TechShop RDU Third anniversary party is happening this Saturday!

We'll be celebrating this Saturday, 4/21, rain or shine, from 12-5 PM! Food, Pinewood Derby, class specials, and live music; plus, $3.00 pints of any draft beer from Roth Brewing! Bring the family; don't miss it!

TechShop parties are always a ton of fun.  The "Few Rules" Pinewood Derby is always a big hit and the food is plentiful and delicious.

Hackarduino: The Arduino Prototyping Platform

Here is a Kickstarter project from our friends and 2011 sponsor. Check it out!

The product, when completed, will be a platform based on the Arduino with a built-in breadboard, however the device will be the same size as the Arduino Mega, and will still be able to accommodate additional Arduino shields.

Calling All Makers!

This past Saturday was spent looking over the location for Maker Faire NC 2011. It will be held in the Gov. Kerr Scott building at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds, and with over 20,000 sq. ft. of usable space, there will be plenty of room for all of our exhibitors and guests.

We have a tentative layout for this year’s Maker Faire, with areas penciled in for the “Chaos Machine” and music performers, as well as zones for tech, electronics, crafts and textiles. There are restrooms a-plenty and a snack bar too!

If you are interested in becoming an exhibitor at Maker Faire: NC 2011, submit your application here. We still have spots available and would love having you as part of this amazing event!

Visit the FOSSFair website to register, suggest a session, or volunteer to give a talk yourself.
