We are a club for people interested in the use of Japanese woodworking tools and techniques. We will demonstrate some of these tools. Most are immediately recognizable, but require different
techniques than the tools most people are familiar with. All the demo tools are hand tools, no power equipment, and the wood is finished with fine cutting tools, no sandpaper. Saws and hand planes are safe tools, and with proper supervision, attendees can try their hands at cutting a board or planing a surface smooth. Its a tradition hundreds of years old, evolved to a highly refined art.
