The Scrap Exchange has participated in Maker Faire for the past few years and has absolutely love it! We will bring plenty of materials, tape, staplers and scissors and set up a make-n-take area where kids and adults can make their own projects free of charge. Last year, we did a collaborative project where participants could contribute to a group piece. It was a nice activity for people who wanted to play with the materials and not take something home. We can also bring some raw materials for purchase - lab equipment and vintage items - as well as some arts and crafts from our artist's marketplace. Our staff is trained to work with a diverse population and are great at talking to people about the materials and getting them to experiment and create!
The Scrap Exchange is a non-profit creative reuse center in Durham, NC with a mission to promote creativity, environmental awareness, and community through reuse.
