Welcome

Here Come the Toes!

Let’s talk about feet! We all got two and I swear like fingerprints, no two feet are the same. My feet vary in size depending on my weight; when I am at goal, I am a 6.5 (US) and when I’m heavier, I am at a 7 or 7.5! When I was a child my feet peeled like an onion. I used to have medication applied nightly and wore socks to bed so that it would soak into the soles of my feet. I even only wore only cotton socks. I am not sure when the peeling stopped, I think in my late teens. Now? I have stinky feet. No matter what type of shoe I wear (breathable or not) my shoes eventually will stink themselves up and it is embarrassing to remove my shoes for whatever reason.

I get excited for Spring as that is when I can let my feet breathe, wearing sandals and flip flops to my hearts content. Spring is freeing in that there usually are no issues with stinky feet. Just like with cleaning the clothes closet and changing out fall/winter clothes for spring/summer, I do the same with my shoes. Today I bought some extra strong shoe deodorizer and some odour eaters and this weekend I will be cleaning out the coat and shoe closet and rediscovering some of my lovely spring/summer shoes from last year.

Before I bare all though (still currently wearing closed toe shoes), I need to give myself a pedicure. I prefer to start off the season with a professional one as they get right in there and even work on my heels, but with finances such as they are, that is not in the cards. I love painted toenails and I don’t like regular colours and recently purchased from Avon, a bright yellow (matches Buttercup!) and a dark smokey grey. I have pretty feet (no toenail fungus for me thank goodness), and small nail beds. I usually also have some sort of decoration on my big toes, usually a flower or two. I may not be a girly girl…but I love pretty painted feet. I don’t have a foot fetish, promise!

So, what about you? Do you relish the oncoming spring and summer and free the toes? Do you start the start the season with a professional pedicure and then upkeep them yourself? Do you go wild in the polish colour, or do you keep it plain and simple?

Fruit gift baskets, have you ever received or sent one? One of my coworkers received one here at the office for their birthday and the whole office enjoyed it, it was delicious. It had strawberries (some dipped in chocolate), melon balls, grapes, oranges, blueberries and blackberries shaped to form flowers. It was darling and I think the next time I think to send flowers to someone…I will send fruit :) Besides, it’s good for you!
